Mark Henderson

 

 

Mark Henderson is a senior telecommunications industry executive, with more than 35 years experience in the sector.

Most notably, Mr. Henderson was Chairman of Ericsson Canada, prior to which he held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer for more than 15 years. In this time, Ericsson became one of the leading telecommunications infrastructure providers in the Canadian market, and among the top-12 research and development companies in the country.

Throughout his career, Mr. Henderson has held various senior positions within the telecommunications industry in disciplines encompassing design and development, program management, operations, and executive management. Beyond the Canadian market, his broad experience includes a number of international assignments including Asia, Central America, the Middle East, and Europe.

He has been an active participant in a number of industry boards and forums, including the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (chair, vice-chair), the Swedish-Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the McGill Executive Institute Advisory Board, and the Business Council of Canada.

He is currently Board Chair for the Ontario Centre of Innovation. OCI’s mission is to bring industry, academic, and government partners together and invest in collaborative R&D, technology development, and commercialization opportunities that will generate the highest return on innovation for Ontarians.

Mr. Henderson is also a senior investment advisor to Business Sweden, focusing primarily on innovation collaboration and foreign investment between Canada and Sweden.
